Somebody told me “If you want to improve your English language you read books and newspaper in English medium.”  Indeed for many people like me, for them this is very difficult to enhance English as second language. You may have similar problem. This is true that I started reading books more than newspaper. Choosing books has another story. Today I want to share with you my experiences on the reading both my success story and experiences too. I love to share these things so you may have similar story later on. You can also share your thoughts on the comments below.

Why I hated to read

I hated because I did not understand what the writer is telling out of the books and could not enjoy the reading which was indeed not on my interest. The main purpose behind the reading was different than the writer’s anticipation from those who picks up the book and read it, get some knowledge and give credit to him or her ultimately. Being a reader my purpose was different. I have also gone through the academic writings but could not be able to understand the academic jargons and tuff language twisting here and there for their principles, theories and logics but I was looking for very simple and good to get the idea easily.

I searched the book which is in simple language. I mixed my interest of being wealthy and successful on the searching books. I have found many some I have bought and some borrowed from a friend. I want to explain here about those books I was interested on and you can too pick up to read for your benefit.

Reading means collecting the experiences

I know you are little bored to turn the page of the book after your college or degree. Me too was on the same way for many years but later on I found one intellectual person’s saying that he was telling youths and children to read the books and because of this habits the first world country has been able to develop their nation.

Actually what happens if you read or study the books? You may think we can get little knowledge. Right? May be you are right. Definitely we can get the knowledge but apart from this we can have experiences of the people who have done good job and established wisdom in this world and moreover, experienced good and bad which supports us not to repeat the failure method again. This is the beauty of taking a sensation of heart of the successful people to succeed. If you want to experiment the same thing in your life it can cost years of time and resources as well as your life too. Think about the invention of bulb when Thomas Alva Addition created. Now the method has already established. No more efforts are there for inventing the bulb again.

For example, if I share the experience here that I have gained from my work, you simply can get the knowledge what work could be and what kinds of behavior and skill need to be obtained for the performance. If I tell you everything in the managing the programs and projects, I mean everything not hiding even to do list too, you can learn and have good knowledge of the manager position.

How to read a book

1. Hardcopy of book

This is very simple, easy and cheap way to reading with hardcopy of a book. Just you need to order or purchase the book you are interested and start reading. This doesn’t require the electricity, gadget or internet too. Additionally, you can write note, mark and turn it easily whenever you need it.

2. Book exchange

Another reading method is exchanging the books from your friends. This doesn’t mean to save little money but the seeking the reference from a friend. Endorsements by a friend for anything can be super interesting. You may notice that if a friend recommends you to watch a movie then you must be very keen to get the ticket to inter in the cinema hall or buy a DVD. This is a good way to refer a writer to your friends or get reference from them too. I have been using this method with some friends since many years. You can do it as well.

3. Tab, Smartphone, Kindle and iPad

This is the third way to read books. I am not a fan using computer for book reading though I prefer to use it for the internet surfing and reading blogs. If you can afford to buy some gadgets like tab, Kindel, or even iPad then your reading will be very easy for the softcopy of books like, PDF, epub, Fb2, RTF, etc. Some books are free while purchasing Kindle but not most popular book one.

4. WordWeb

I use the WordWeb dictionary for the any dictionary support needed while reading. WordWeb is very much friendly in computer rather than in gadgets like smartphones or iPads. If you are reading PDF books on your computer then whenever you stuck for the meaning of a word, then you hover over your courser upon the word then just ctrl+right click on it. (Or you can first select your word and then click ctrl+alt+W. For Mac I need to figure it out.) The WordWeb will pop up within a second with word meaning. Before that you need to install the software which is free and should be in startup program of your windows or should be in task bar. I have been using this method since many years to increase my word power.

5. Listening Apps in the Smart Phone

This is the last but not least (I assume this as an important) method for our reading I am going to give your some clue on using the smartphone or tablets for the reading purpose. I have downloaded some apps in my smartphone like eBook Reader. This allows me to hear the book in audio type page by page with female voice. How interesting right? Yap, this is super cool apps for the smartphone I have ever found for book reading. But this only reads some specific file like epub, DjVu, FB2 and RTF, not PDF file. I am looking for other apps for PDF on this kind of function as well. If you have file in word or PDF you can convert it into the readable file from http://www.zamzar.com/ website and you will get the link to download your file in your email inbox and you can enjoy listening your very book. Use your time with your favorable books while walking or running or even working in some suitable environment.

Mistakes you need to avoid

1. Not making a note instantly

I have missed many books only for enjoyment. I like to share that if you find the topic is very important and you are interest to use that one for your work or sharing with other then you need to make a note instantly for it. So, this will reminds you as a summary of book. I want to tell you that you need to trust your brain as well as keep your note on hand.

2. Not marking the book on your interested pages

Book marking your interested page is very good idea. Some people use the book mark for the continuous reading as well. But I like to tell you that book mark is important for the extracting some lesson later on after you read it.

3. Leaving the book in the middle

The study has shown that 20% only people finish the book from the first page to the last page of the last chapter. If you do not want to read it thoroughly the why do you bother to spend your money for the sake of purchasing only. There is another part. Some writer will keep good part of the book as a cream in last chapter. I have found it in many books. So keep reading until the end.

4. Keeping it within yourself

Most important part of the reading is to share. You can grow your knowledge by sharing and discussing with your team as same as reading. Sharing will keep your knowledge alive. After completing certain books I have design one training program to share. This has been being good platform to me for enriching me in the global and fundamental knowledge on some subjects.

Finally, having knowledge is not for being puff or proud. This is something for using in our daily life or to support others as well. This will also improve your quality of life and you can utilize your free time.

Today I want to share here some of the income methods people are using to generate earnings for their livelihood. I am also generating my income as you probably know that I am working as a development worker holding program manager position in World Vision, a huge organization for the transformational development. I am too here earning some average income by working with people. Likewise, you also might be working to earn something for your family and yourself in some company, firm or in some organization and office. That is cool, I mean to have a job definitely good. If you look around yourself there are lots of people searching every day for the certain jobs. This is good that you have already occupied your best job. I think you like it. Probably you like it. I like my work. Absolutely I do. Some of you might be working as a business owner or self-employed or you are consulting or maybe you are investing your time and money on different businesses for your future.

This is the exact learning today I want to share with you. There are two types of the income in this world which are an active income and a passive income. Active income is that a work or a business or a money making system that requires your physical presence or effort to earn something. It means without your action or effort there is no any result. If you are working as a job holder or hourly basis working and at the end you will calculate your wages then this is real active income. On the other way you are trading your time, energy and skills whatever you have for money is called active income. For example, you know computer basics and can type 50 words per minutes. Suppose somebody hires you give you 15 dollar per hour on your skills of typing and you do his/her job. After working 8 hours you will be worthy of getting $ 120 as your wages. This is what we are talking about active income. This applies on timely basis, needs energy and also requires specific skills. In order to earn 120 bucks you should be able to trade your time as well as other specific requirement. You cannot do and earn $240 or even $130 too. Gradually you need to raise your standards to earn above your current income. This is easy you can understand well. Every human being on the surface of the earth needs to go through the same formula no matter he/she is CEO or janitor. Trading your time is the basics of active income principle.

Let’s go to the second one that is passive income. If you are a strong job holder you do not want to talk even on passive income. Why? I know because you don’t believe on the passive income streams as a part of your income method. I know many of us have been earning a little or bit more from the income passively. What is passive income then? If I tell you the truth on the passive income then you may giggle. Passive income is the earning you do now need to work completely for money. Your income will come even you sleep or even you eat or walk whatever you enjoy doing you like. In the morning you will wake up with some extra money with excited mood. Does it happen in your life? I bet you do. You may not have huge portfolio on these kinds of passive income but at least you might have small amount of money coming with your seconds by seconds. This is what passive income. You do not need to work for money. It means money is working for you.

I am quite sure that you have something very basic on the earning and generating income in two different ways I have mentioned above. I do come to you with the how to copycat the income in my following blogs but for now I am giving away my insight to you on working hard really for the success of our life with this good story that I had heard some years ago.

There were two men in one village whose job is to carry water to feed people in that village. Both had started their job at the young age and now both got married and still they are carrying the water on the pot to give house by house and door by door. One day one man realized that if he became sick or ill then his livelihood be no more there because he would not be able to bring the water from the source to feed the people. So he asked his son to help his work. Young son generates one idea to have one pipe from source to village instead of carrying daily. Initially the father did not agree with his idea but later on realized the result of the task which was huge. Actually, he had recruited his son at the work in terms of sustainability.

The father and son started digging the hill and inserting the pipe which definitely took months and months but they managed their work by fetching water early in the morning and working for the construction up to late evening. Other man was teasing them on what they were doing. Often he told the father and son that their work will be futile because there was no any man who was thinking outside of the box at that moment. Years and years passed away still their project was not completed. People are really laughing at them. At the very old age of the father they were succeed bringing water from the source to the village through the pipe. Now all were history. Now you see the son was collecting money instead of carrying water daily and without work actually. Other man’s job has been gone. What do you think on this story? Does this can happen in your life? I am sure it can. Why? This is because of a system that father and son had built investing years and years with their time and energy had made them enable to generate income passively later. We usually have income for living and without income nobody can live in this modern world. There are different ways for generating income. Simple method is job and another is business. Still there are many ways for making money and I want to share something which I have learnt from many other experienced people those who are successful in their career so we can also learn from them. I have tried since many years, I think more than 5 years to today, to launch a website to share what I have experienced and I assume that many other colleagues of mine still looking good information to find which I have worked hard to get this done today. Basically, it is that if you want to know more about the professional work, business, development, career, counseling, investment, online presence, income generation and solving difficult problems there are huge information in the world which I am also using now a days and I am here something to share from my experience and you also can learn to get this experience from my hard work. It does not mean that you do not need to do hard work again. But you can start your work on your passion to build on the successes that have been established already in the world. Actually, we human beings cannot live two hundred and four hundred years but what we can do is we can collect the experience from our relatives, colleagues, mentor, coach, teacher, gurus that can be more than two hundred and four hundred year’s experiences collectively. Why do we re-invent the wheel if it is there already?

For example; I had one friend once he told me that he cannot buy anything in from the internet as he is restricted from it as his country citizenship restricted provision. I was also thinking on the same way but now I can do whatever I need using my card and other payment method in online stores. If I do let him know about it how I made this happen he only needs to follow the same step that I did to acquire the online facilities. Now you may be thinking that many people have this kind of success to get something done. Success in my opinion is not beyond our access. It is only a thing that many people have done before and now we need to try our first step. This is necessary we need to follow the footsteps to reach at the level of success somebody has already created.

I am here for my work

I have my own work from 8:30 to 5 in one organization to perform the set performance in order to fulfill the requirement of the office. Besides of that nothing is there. I have been trying something which benefits people around the world in leisure time. Many people have their own interest to utilize their free time whether it can be travel, trekking, watching movie or TV, reading books, chatting with friends and so on. My principle is to utilize my time on something productive besides of the requirements. Because of it I have collected thousands of books on my interest, and more than 86 already finished reading, searching websites for the knowledge and information, watching documentary for the improvement of languages, talking with different people.

Now I am starting this blog to keep record my learning and thought whatever comes in my head. This is the website what I was trying to keep running since years. Now I succeed on it with the support of my two friends one was very close friend and another very new (I have not met once face to face with him even).

Why to choose internet as a platform

There are many bloggers in the world and I am too added on the list from today. I have seen there are more than one billion live website in the internet and more than 3 billion internet users in the world. I knew that this is one powerful platform to present and link with anyone around the globe. I am here to share what I have learnt and thought that it could be helpful to you as well. There is one fact that everyone has something useful for one another. But keeping information and learning within us does not bring the synergy in the work. There is one guy Tony Robbins who said once “Everyone says that information is powerful but information is not powerful but the action which comes from the information. That is powerful.” I am the huge fan of this saying and now I am trying to share something I have already gotten. This is actually an action that I have taken as influence of it.
